Games for extracurricular activities in mathematics

In the game of life is a big place. Through it, children learn about the world, learn about different objects and phenomena, master speech in communicating with other people. In-school learning activity becomes dominant, but the children are still with significant interest to the different games and puzzles. They are attracted to the game itself. In play, children often show their activity, resourcefulness and ingenuity. In the game, they often seek the highest results for yourself.

Games in this article are of great importance for the general mathematical development of children. A small number of rules, conditions in them promotes fantasy involves many different options of play actions, gives the opportunity to develop logical thinking. These games require a lot of time (for students thinking of their actions, to find the correct answer by trial and error), to trying different solutions, so we recommend them to after-school classes in math or in day care center.

One of those games – long a favorite children mosaic. During this game, children consistently folded parts of the mosaic of patterns of different colors, shapes. Children willingly respond to the teacher’s suggestion to play with mosaics. The game is familiar to them, they are confident in their abilities and enthusiastically perform tasks like: “Put the green circle to the right – the yellow triangle on the left – the yellow square, above – a red triangle, below – the red square. The yellow triangle, place the green square, then a red circle. Look at Figure 1. Which figure should be a green (the color of the figure indicated in the figure by the first letter) square, preceded by a yellow triangle between two green figures? Count how many triangles. Show the number of green figures, all the figures. ”

Thus, in the course of the game, children are introduced to simple geometric shapes, learn the concept of “top”, “bottom”, “left”, “right”, “between”, which are the basis of spatial concepts, master account of the classification of figures for one or multiple grounds.

Pupils like and different game – “Jigsaw.” It can be bought or made by children under the guidance of a teacher.
